We're excited to invite you to this on-campus program hosted by the Office of Admission!

Discover Grinnell is our annual fall open house for prospective students and guests. You will have the opportunity to tour campus, sit in on a class, explore academic and co-curricular life, and hear from current students, faculty, administrators, and coaches. Special panels will also address internships and research projects, off-campus study, and the process of applying for admission and financial aid. A complimentary lunch will be available. Interviews (optional)

Interviews begin in the Admission and Student Financial Services building and generally last 20-30 minutes. Be sure the interview time you select does not overlap with other components of your visit. Interviews are conducted by trained seniors at the College or by admission counselors. Interviews are a two-way street: we get to learn more about you and you get to learn more about us in a one-on-one setting. Please note that interviews are completely optional and are not required for admission, but if you choose to have one, it will be included as part of our evaluation of your application.

Interviews are also available via phone or video call if you are interested in this option or you're not able to schedule one during your time on campus.

We find that interviews are most productive when students are within roughly a year of applying:
• Prospective first-year students - between spring of their junior year (April) and December of their senior year.
• Whether you interview in-person or interview virtually, or not, we encourage you to visit campus!

Transportation

Visiting families arriving at the Des Moines International Airport (DSM) or the Eastern Iowa Airport (CID) should plan to rent a car to travel to and from Grinnell College. Taxis, ride share services (Uber, Lyft), and public transportation are not available once you are in Grinnell or to get you from Grinnell back to the airport. Grinnell College does not provide shuttle services within Grinnell or to and from the airport for visiting families.
